"Echoes of The Backrooms" is an indie horror game that masterfully captures the unsettling atmosphere of the Backrooms and the uncanny eeriness of liminal spaces. This game excels in creating an immersive horror experience with its cinema-quality visuals and meticulously crafted environments.

E.O.T.B is a first person psychological horror game and you guessed it, its theme is the Backrooms.Heavily Inspired by the eeriness of liminal spaces, i decided to make a rather cinematic yet creepy version of the Backrooms world.
You play as Oliver, a mechanic at a secret underground laboratory. There, a non government organization tries multiple tests to achieve creating a time machine, however while tweaking one of the machines it errors, creating a dimension paradox, specifically a portal to a non-linear dimension, the Backrooms. A place where time and space unfold in unforeseen ways. Will you find a way back to your reality? Or will you become part of this twisted horror dimension?
Keep in mind that this game was single handedly crafted from scratch by 1 person. Reaching this level of visual quality and sound design was more than difficult. So it would be more than appreciated to make some very specific review exceptions like the translations not being 100% accurate since they are machine translated, or the graphics optimization tool being a bit difficult to use.

TECHNOLOGICAL FEATURES
I've created this game mostly focusing on atmosphere and breath taking visuals using Unreal Engine 5.3,thus the following systems/technologies are used:
-Next Gen 3D Lighting technology, using Lumen both software and hardware Ray Tracing features like Ray Traced Shadows, Accurate Global Illumination and real time lighting.
-Immersive 3D Sound Technology from Microsoft. Project Acoustics, offering spatialized and binaural audio integration, making sound effects, ambience and music interact with the 3D environment. Long story short, physically based sound rendering.
And on top of the 3D physically based audio rendering EOTB features, the game uses Steam Audio spatialization.
Steam Audio uses three-dimensional precision game audio to immerse players in a more realistic, more intense cinematic experience. Sounds with lifelike details are precisely rendered all around the player, so they feel like they are deeper inside the game.
-Next Gen Upscaling Technology from NVIDIA,featuring 2 upscaling methods, making your game run faster while maintaining the same visual quality.
DLSS and NIS
-A kind of complicated, yet solid main menu featuring more than all the needed options to optimize or tweak the performance/control of the gameplay to your liking.
