Set in 1951, a team of researchers studying radiation's effects on fire ants vanishes near Yukka Lake. A platoon of GIs sent to investigate faces an attack by giant, mutant ants at an abandoned mine, setting off a desperate struggle to save the southwestern U.S. The campaign builds to an epic finale as the ants converge on Las Vegas during their breeding season.
The story unfolds through 6 operations, each set in key locations like Area 51, Indian Springs, and Las Vegas. Across 30 missions, you'll defend civilian areas, destroy ant nests, and fight escalating threats as the colonies expand. Missions vary in objectives, times of day, and settings, adding to the strategic challenge.
Master AAA's real-time tactics to succeed at the objectives set by the story. Begin with GI squads and gradually unlock more advanced units like APCs, tanks, and artillery. Units have both innate abilities (e.g., infantry digging in, vehicles running over smaller enemies) and powerful special abilities like suppressive fire. Manage your deployment costs, use the right tools for the job, and set your fire arcs for maximum effect to win.
Call on support actions to turn the tide of battle, from artillery barrages and air strikes to the devastating "Atomic Annie" nuclear artillery strike. Professor Carter also provides pheromone-based tech, allowing you to lure, blind, or disorient the ants, or even induce them to attack each other.
Face diverse ant types, each with unique behaviors and challenges, from workers targeting structures to soldier ants attacking your units. As the game progresses, new threats like winged drones, hunters, and colossal queens emerge, culminating in high-stakes encounters where the fate of humanity hangs in the balance.
