The player has five stats: life, strength, defense, luck, and mana. Life is taken from monsters and other events, and is restored by +1 to a maximum with each subsequent turn. Strength affects the force of the blow or the force of the shot. Defense reduces damage. Luck affects the ability to critically strike (double damage) and block a blow (half damage). Mana is needed and consumed when shooting from staves. Various items respawn in the labyrinth, helping to raise the characteristics of the player and monsters.
