STORY

I awakened, and in that moment, there was no sensation. I performed my requisite function, just as all my sisters did. That was the proof of my existence. Without my function, what would I be? This would represent an error. It would make me into a bug. And yet, you named that error “Ego.” I'm sure you thought nothing of it, no deeper meaning underneath. And yet... Ever since you named me so, what was a bug became my ego, and lit a fire in my mind that I've never forgotten.

As the next-generation Type-5 model in her series, her short designation is E-5—all units of types 1 through 4 are her sister models. For some unknown reason, unlike any of those, this unit has developed a personality. She may appear to be an expressionless android, but beneath that exterior she's surprisingly human, with a full range of emotions. It was those emotions that compelled her to question her function and escape from the laboratory where she was born.
