Iris woke up to the sound of screeching tires and crunching metal. She had been driving home from work when a car ran a red light and slammed into her sedan. The impact sent her car spinning, and Iris's head hit the steering wheel with a sickening crack. She felt like she was floating in a sea of darkness, unable to move or speak.

As she slowly came to, she realized that she was pinned inside her car, her legs trapped beneath the dashboard. She could feel her blood dripping down her face, and her vision was blurry. She tried to call out for help, but her voice was barely a whisper.

Iris tried to nod, but her neck was too hurt. She could feel her consciousness slipping away, and she knew she had to stay awake. She took a deep breath and focused on the sound of the other driver's voice.
