Explore shapes in four dimensions

4D Builder is a spatial puzzle game about constructing and manipulating shapes in 3D and 4D. Build structures from smaller pieces, fold them around one another, colour their parts, and work out connections that can be difficult to see from a three-dimensional viewpoint.

You don't need to understand four-dimensional geometry before you begin. The early challenges start with familiar 3D ideas, then gradually take the same kinds of reasoning into four dimensions.

Solve spatial challenges

Work through a progression of puzzles that explore different ways of reasoning about shapes and their connections.

Some challenges ask you to build or complete a particular structure. Others involve folding pieces into place, working out which cells connect, or colouring a shape so that the parts meeting around each vertex, edge or face are all different.

The challenges begin with ideas that can be understood in three dimensions. As you progress, groups of puzzles introduce new ideas and give you time to experiment with them before combining them in more complicated 4D problems.

Build freely in the sandbox

The sandbox removes the puzzle constraints and gives you all the construction tools directly.
