One shift. A candy shop. Humans, demons, and a selection you really don't want to mix up.

In Sweet or... Sweet?, you'll have to:

Welcome to the evening shift.

JUST ONE EVENING

The protagonist agrees to help out their sister by covering a shift at her candy shop.

At first, the job seems simple enough: greet customers, take their orders, and hand over the right sweets.

Just in case, their sister has left behind a detailed catalogue of everything the shop sells. After all, there's no way to memorize the entire selection in a single evening.

It soon becomes clear why the catalogue might come in handy.

Humans aren't the only ones who shop here.

Some sweets are meant for humans.

Others are meant for demons.

And customers don't always tell you which one they are.

LISTEN. LOOK. DRAW YOUR OWN CONCLUSIONS.

Every new customer is a small mystery.

Talk to them and pay attention to the details. An offhand remark, an unusual request, a strange mannerism, or something about their appearance might reveal who's really standing on the other side of the counter.

Sometimes the answer will be obvious.

Sometimes you'll have to think.

And sometimes a suspicious customer is just a very strange human.

Probably.

CHECK THE CATALOGUE

The shop's selection is inspired by the Major Arcana of Tarot.

Each sweet has its own place in the catalogue, and the human and demon versions are not interchangeable.

If you're not sure, it might be worth checking one more time.

Figure out who's standing in front of you.

Find the right sweet.

And make your choice.

NOT EVERY CUSTOMER COMES HERE JUST FOR THE CANDY

The people who walk into the shop are more than just another order to fill.

Each has their own personality, their own reasons for being there, and their own peculiarities. Through your conversations, you'll gradually learn more about the customers themselves — and about a world where humans and demons are much closer to one another than they might seem.

For now, though, the protagonist is just trying to get through the shift without too much trouble.
