During the refinement process, players can intervene in various ways, such as using "symbols, talismans, spells, techniques, and rituals." The game is set in a fictional cultivation world called "Wuruo."

Xugu is an anomaly in this world, existing outside the time and space of Wuruo, in an imaginary space. People from different eras can enter Xugu through certain mysterious powers. Likewise, through Xugu, one can enter any time point within this world.
