Games Like Guardian of the Sanctuary

Guardian of the Sanctuary is a small fantasy action-adventure game created by a beginner solo developer over the course of about three years, little by little, during spare moments of life.

The game began from a simple feeling: the memory of old adventures from childhood.

A small hero. An unfamiliar world. Dangerous paths. A distant tower. And the quiet excitement of stepping into a place where you do not yet know what waits ahead.

This game was made in the hope of capturing even a small part of that feeling.

Play as a small fox cast ashore on a mysterious island shaped by ancient ruins, forgotten systems, and a quiet sense of melancholy. Explore dangerous paths, fight monsters in real-time combat, discover hidden routes and sealed areas, and climb toward the tower at the heart of the island.

What begins as a simple search for survival gradually becomes a journey through the remains of an ancient power that once tried to control the fate of the world.

Developer’s Note

This is an imperfect game.

It was made by a beginner solo developer with limited time, limited resources, assets purchased from the Unity Asset Store, and help from AI tools.

There may be bugs, rough edges, awkward controls, and parts that do not feel as polished as games made by larger or more experienced teams.

Because of that, I want to be honest from the beginning.

If you are looking for a highly polished, refined, and fully professional action-adventure game, this may not be the right game for you. There are many better-made games out there, and I sincerely recommend choosing one of them if that is what you are looking for.

But if you are willing to play a small, imperfect game built by a beginner solo developer, and if you can accept its flaws, then I would be truly grateful.

I do not know if this game fully succeeds in delivering the feeling I wanted to share. But if even a small part of that quiet sense of adventure reaches you, then this project will have meant something.

If this game ever allows me to continue as a full-time developer, I hope to work harder and return someday with a better game.
