Football Manager Autochess twists club management and near-real-time matches into one game: between matchdays you run the club, recruit odd talents, and train bonds; on matchday you enter a pitch that moves on its own, then rewrite the moment with coach skill cards. From grassroots village football to Tang Chang’an, Liangshan outlaws, the Peach Garden oath, Arthur’s Round Table, and northern longships—legends from different ages can wear your shirt.

Pre-match tactics

Set not only formations and positioning, but also each player’s tactical intent

Near-real-time pitch—drag a card, change fate

Matches aren’t pure number-crunching. Players move, contest possession, and push through an abstract pitch; you drag coach skill cards onto zones or stars—area presses, overlapping runs, quick counters, and more—to break the opponent’s rhythm. Time slows while you drag. Think it through, then play the card.

Collect & develop—build across eras

Players come from different regions and ages: modern village football, Tang poets, Liangshan heroes, Three Kingdoms legends, Arthur’s Round Table, Viking longships, the wuxia jianghu… Recruit, rotate, level up your coach, expand the roster cap, and put names that should never share a pitch into the same starting XI.

Bonds & chemistry

Players of the same theme or role standing together activate bond effects. It’s not just stacking stats—it’s making the squad “make sense.” Peach Garden has its own understanding; Liangshan has its own swagger.

Plan the club calendar

On the hub map, choose where to go: take the field on matchday; sharpen attributes at training; recruit and negotiate in the parlor; handle affairs in admin. Push the season forward; climb into higher leagues to unlock new starter teams and a wider recruiting horizon.

Build a unique coaching style

Before you begin, choose your command bent—team tactics, star-focused direction, or a balanced path. That choice sets your first three coach skills, and from there your own way of running matches takes shape.

The league journey

Start at the lowest tier and fight your way to bigger stages. Every promotion isn’t only a place on the table—it’s a permanent account key to new thematic starter sides: Chang’an Poetry Club, Liangshan, Peach Garden, Star-Sea Trial… and legendary squads still farther ahead.

You can start multiple careers with different clubs and coaching styles, and walk completely different paths.
