Deck of Dynasties is a war over slots. Nine civilizations send their greatest historical figures onto the board, and there is exactly one way to win: kill the enemy leader. The leader is a card standing in the centre of the home row — it can be killed, it is not a health bar.

The board is the fight

Each side holds five home slots and five front-line slots. While the enemy front line holds, you can only strike the front line; break it and the home row opens. The figure that lands a kill walks into the enemy's slot and holds it — a mutual kill leaves the slot empty. Damage is permanent and never heals between turns, so a single exchange can decide the match. Every card may act once per turn, and deploying, attacking, moving, retreating and retaking all spend that card's own Action Points.

Matches stay in sync through lockstep commands and state-hash verification. Reconnect within 45 seconds to resume the same match; after the grace period the server decides the result.
