You and your friends are captured gray aliens sent by a mysterious organization into the depths of Subject "The Maze", the creation of the horrifying creature Maze Creep... Maze Creep!! is a horror satire, where players explore procedurally generated mazes evading the all-hearing Maze Creep, as well as a large cast of other monsters. Collect resources in the maze to give yourself and your friends a better fighting chance. If your friends die, be sure to collect their revival orb, or be penalized. If you all die, you lose.

Search each procedurally generated maze for doubloons to use in the shop, equipment to aid in navigation and escape deadly situations, and to find the exit to progress deeper. As you descend, stranger environments and more dangerous hazards will begin to appear. Tight spaces, aged locations, even casinos await.

Evade (sometimes) intelligent enemies which do not cheat to find you (unless they do), which can be tricked but not fought (unless they can). The game has a focus on stealth over confrontation against most enemies create joint threats with one another that must be solved using your items, wits, and environment.
