About Friends of Duty

Twenty years ago, Call of Duty was a game you played in the same room as your friends, shouting across the couch. Friends of Duty is that game — rebuilt on a modern engine, with the rough edges sanded off and a few new ideas that only make sense when you're playing with people you know.

26 original multiplayer maps. 19 authentic firearms. The movement and damage model you remember, verified against the original. And then some things the original never had.

☾ The Day Doesn't Last Forever

Every map can be configured to run a full time-lapse through an entire day. Matches start in golden morning light and end somewhere very different. Because night in Friends of Duty is actually dark. A beautifully rendered star field, a moon that gives you almost nothing to see by, and eleven other people out there somewhere. Footsteps carry. Muzzle flash is a flare pinned to your chest — fire once and every player on the map knows exactly where you are.

Some squads go quiet and hunt. Some hole up and wait for sunrise.

Which one are you?

☀ Your Shadow Will Betray You

Every player casts a real-time shadow, and so does the entire map. Think Pavlov's House rooftop is a good perch on a bright afternoon? The players inside can watch your shadow sprint across the ceiling. Sightlines you've had memorized for twenty years now change with the sun — the alley that was safe at noon is a shooting gallery at dusk. Cover isn't a fixed property of the map anymore. It's a property of the map right now.

⧉ Classic Mode & Next-Gen Mode

Classic Mode is the game you remember. Original feel, original pacing, no additions. If you came here for muscle memory, it's all still intact.
Next-Gen Mode keeps that exact gameplay and gives it modern presentation — a fully redesigned scope with proper depth of field, refined optics, and a look that earns its place on a 2026 display without touching the balance underneath.

Both are the same game. Pick your era.

Important Notices

⚠ Please Read Before Buying

Friends of Duty requires Call of Duty content but it ships with zero Call of Duty content. To play, you must own Call of Duty 1 and United Offensive — both are available on Steam — and generate your content package from your own installed copy. Friends of Duty includes an exporter tool that does this for you. It requires Blender 4.2+ and Python installed on your machine. The process is automated, but it is a technical step: if you aren't comfortable installing developer tools, ask someone who is to walk you through running the exporter.

Friends of Duty does not condone or enable piracy. Content packages are generated from your legally purchased copy, for your personal use only. Do not distribute your generated package to anyone. Every player needs their own copy of Call of Duty. That's not a technicality — it's the condition this project exists under.
