Set your own tax rates and find the balance: push too hard, and your people will break away and declare themselves free. Trade resources with the Guild's merchants or strike deals directly with rival Fürsten — every price drifts with supply and demand, and every deal you don't make, someone else will. Keep your subjects fed and content: happiness and morale shape everything from productivity to loyalty, so a thriving realm takes as much care as a growing one. Every Taler you collect, spend, or hoard is a choice — and your people are watching you make it.

The Burden of Empire

Bigger isn't always better. Push your realm past a certain size, and the administrative strain of holding it together starts eating into your morale and material output — a cost that lingers even once you stop expanding, so growth has to be managed, not just chased. Your armies need the same balance: neglect their upkeep, and regiments desert. Let the neglect go on long enough, and rebellion follows — town by town, your own subjects rising up to tear themselves free from your rule.

Steel Giants and Bitter Sieges

The age of static warfare is over. Command infantry, artillery, and the Kampfläufer — the towering walking machines that shattered the old world order. Lead your forces directly through your personal avatar, though if they fall in battle, so do the powerful boons they carry.

Feudal Diplomacy

Defeat isn't always death. Take a rival's palace and they kneel, becoming your vassal — keeping their throne while handing you a tithing. But vassals remember their humiliation, and once the enough time has passed, they'll start plotting rebellion.

Beyond the Sky

Beyond a single world is a galaxy.  Despite the war, the Guild's freighters keep running to off-world colonies like Pale and Alocho, indifferent to the wars tearing the Empire apart. Fund an expedition, book passage, and land on a procedurally generated world with nothing but what you shipped. Kneel a rival on one world, and they kneel on all of them.
