Hamlet is not a cosy city builder. It is designed for the min/max strategist. While the game features a relaxed "Easy Mode" for players who want a calmer, more meditative experience, the core simulation demands strict efficiency, tight optimization, and long term planning.

You will not manage real-time units on a battlefield, and you won't be micro-managing tactical combat. But the military is vital in Hamlet, both for turning a profit and ensuring the survival of your settlement and your nation! Your task is to bankroll, supply, and arm these forces. In Hamlet, the war is won in your workshops long before the marching drums ever beat.

Forget basic factory lines that infinitely churn out identical iron swords. In Hamlet, your economy is only as good as the experts running it. Your managers possess unique skill sets that directly manipulate the production matrix—governing not just how fast things are made, but the fundamental quality and value of the final product.

Your layout and your workforce are inextricably linked. The physical design of your settlement—the proximity of housing to amenities, the distance from the market place, the quality of the roads, and the allocation of resources—directly shapes your success. To rival the wealth of the capital, you must master a dual layer of strategy: designing a flawless urban grid while maintaining the delicate social infrastructure of the people who power it.
