A dangerous world

Explore Deadgrove and all its encounters, dungeons and environmental challenges. Everything here fights against you, be it bandits, mutated creatures or the environment itself: master your tools and the environment to overcome rushing water, deep mud and rocky cliffs. There are no magic spells, no potions or flaming swords, you're at a disadvantage againts the Grove.

High stakes

Sinners of Deadgrove offers a brutal challenge, and is meant to be played in its "hardcore" mode, where you'll have to be wary of your surroundings at all times or risk losing your only life. A lighter difficulty setting is available to enjoy the experience in a more forgiving way. All modes can be played alone or with a friend to help carry the burden of your Sins.

Embrace your new home

Your map and compass aren't magical artefacts, it's up to you to get your bearings in the Grove. Remember to hunt or gather food while you explore, and always look for a place to rest and lick your wounds, as there are no healing spells or potions in this world. Remember to also keep your guard up while sleeping, to decrease your chances of being ambushed: the woods never rest.

Fight the Grove

Fight the threats of the Grove with a wide array of moves: slash, stab, block, parry, dodge and more to defeat your enemies. Each strike can be lethal and enemies learn from your actions. Never stand still, always switch up your moves. You can also use a bow or crossbow to strike from a distance, but always watch your back.

Your equipment is your best friend

Choose between swords, maces, axes, spears and many more weapon types, all with their unique moves and characteristics. Proficiency with weapons grows naturally as you use them, and you'll unlock new moves and combos with time. You can also grab a shield, if your other hand is empty and the situation doesn't instead call for a torch or lantern.

Steel and spirit

Different armor types do different jobs: chainmail, padded coats and steel plates are all valid options in different situations and need maintenance after some good hits, so visit the anvil often. Sacred amulets are another potential source of protection, but only the faithful can truly benefit.

A beacon of hope

A settlements of humans still stands in Deadgrove: Slatehold is home to many services, including a tavern, blacksmith and a training ground. As a Sinner, you lost access to most of this, and you'll have to prove yourself worthy of the walls' protection after what you've done.

Sinners

They say you've betrayed your kind, and got cast out for it. The town fears you, but it's bound to collapse soon, and will accept help even from the likes of you, if it means not giving in to the Grove. The choice is yours: help the people of Slatehold, last known bastion of humanity, or let the Grove consume what's left of it once and for all.
