Rent Due is a first-person landlord sim where the property empire doesn't run itself. You run it. Take out a loan, buy your first fixer-upper, furnish it room by room, and put it on the market. Then do the part other games skip: meet the applicants face to face, hand over the keys, and knock on doors when the rent comes due.

Build the portfolio

Start with $8,000, a laptop, and an uncle with opinions. Browse listings on PlotPoint, walk through every property before you buy it, and furnish your homes one set at a time. A well-kitted kitchen pays for itself in rent. And when the open market runs thin, there's always the auction house, where foreclosures go cheap and the bidding gets personal.

Borrow like you mean it

EstateBank fronts the cash, one loan at a time. Your credit line grows with every deed you hold, interest lands monthly, and the bank takes its cut automatically whether you had a good month or not. Debt is a ladder, as long as the rent outruns the payments.

Price it like you know something

Undercut the market and applicants sprint to your office. Price it greedy and watch them hesitate at the door. Every listing is a bet on how much the neighborhood loves you, and the pricing cards let you choose exactly how greedy you feel today.

Choose your tenants carefully

Applicants line up at your office. Run background checks to see their job, income, credit score, and their record. "Public intox at Build-A-Bear" is a real thing you will read in this game. Credit matters, too: great tenants pay every day or two, shaky ones make you wait for it. Sign the good ones. The guy you didn't vet? He's the reason your living room is gone.

Collect the rent yourself

Rent doesn't wire itself to your account. It piles up at the door until you come get it, and a flaky tenant left alone with your money will spend it. The calendar on your wall knows exactly who owes you and when. Knock, collect, and keep the streak clean.

Evict by the book (or don't)

Non-payers get a notice posted on their door, by your hand. Just make sure you have grounds, because tenants fight back, and losing in court makes them untouchable. Thinking of raising the rent sky high to force someone out? The judge has seen that trick before.

Then hire people to do all of it

When the route gets long, put property managers on the payroll: collectors, leasing agents, and eviction specialists. The elite ones are worth every dollar. The cheap ones take days off, skim the envelope, and sign tenants they never checked.
