Why we made TomoBuddy

We’re two developers who wanted pets of our own, but life, rising costs, and not enough time kept getting in the way. So we created TomoBuddy, a tiny virtual companion that brings some of the joy, routine, and lovable chaos of caring for a pet right to your desktop. We hope you love it as much as we do, and please look forward to tons of cool stuff to be added in the future!

Privacy, up front

The typing reaction uses a global keyboard hook that counts keystroke events only. It never reads, stores, or transmits which keys you press. Key identity is discarded immediately, and the counting code is open source on GitHub. TomoBuddy makes zero network calls.
