Wayfarer Protocol is a colony sim set on a single starship. You start with a cramped hull, a reactor that barely keeps up, and a crew that will suffocate, starve, or burn if you look away too long. Everything past that, you build.

Lay down floor and hull one tile at a time. Wire in reactors, oxygen recyclers, hydroponics, a kitchen, bunks. Bolt turrets and thrusters onto the outside of the hull. Every system pulls power and throws off heat, and a reactor that falls behind will brown out exactly the half of the ship you needed running.

Your crew aren't stat blocks. They get hungry, tired, and scared, and each one carries traits that cut both ways: a hard worker, a coward, a green thumb who doubles your harvests, a night owl who needs less sleep. Their morale sinks when the ship falls apart around them. When a fire breaks out or the hull cracks open to space, someone drops what they're doing to deal with it. If the breach is on the outside, they suit up and go out on a tether to patch it.

Then you jump. Every sector deals a fresh hand: an asteroid field worth stripping, a trader worth hailing, a distress call that might be a trap, pirates who will cut through your hull to take the cargo. You fight with whatever you bolted on: lasers, mass drivers, plasma, a railgun that guts one enemy system per shot. Fights are won by dropping their shields and picking apart their engines, guns, and life support before they do it to you.

Ten sectors deep, something far bigger is waiting for you. It doesn't take bribes.

Lose the whole crew and the run ends there. Get them through to the other side and you'll have earned it.
