Shrine Full of Anomalies is a Touhou Project fangame and observation adventure in which you examine repeating scenery, identify what has changed, and find a way to escape.

Explore four locations: a shrine, a Japanese garden, a bamboo forest, and a library. Play as Reimu Hakurei, Youmu Konpaku, Fujiwara no Mokou, and Marisa Kirisame, and determine whether an anomaly is hiding in each location.

Choose the correct action for each stage. Turn back when an anomaly is present, or ring the bell and proceed when everything appears normal. A correct decision lets you advance, but a mistake sends you back to Area 0.

Stage 1

Shrine Full of Anomalies

Protagonist: Reimu Hakurei

Reimu Hakurei finds herself trapped in a mysterious shrine where the same grounds repeat over and over again.

Observe the buildings, objects, signs, characters, and other details around the shrine, and determine what has changed since your previous visit.

Turn back if you find an anomaly. If everything appears normal, ring the bell. Make the correct decisions and escape from Area 8.

Stage 2

Garden Full of Anomalies

Protagonist: Youmu Konpaku

Youmu Konpaku finds herself lost in a beautiful Japanese garden where something feels strangely out of place.

Many anomalies involving the scenery, structures, and characters are hidden throughout the quiet garden.

Do not let the familiar scenery deceive you. Search carefully for even the smallest changes.

Stage 3

Bamboo Forest Full of Anomalies

Protagonist: Fujiwara no Mokou

While fighting Kaguya Houraisan, Fujiwara no Mokou suddenly finds herself lost in a strange bamboo forest where the same path repeats endlessly.

Among rows of nearly identical bamboo, look out for subtle differences and unnatural phenomena as you search for a way out.

With few landmarks and many similar-looking surroundings, the bamboo forest presents a different observational challenge from the shrine and garden.

Stage 4

Library Full of Anomalies

Protagonist: Marisa Kirisame

While attempting to take a book from the Great Library of the Scarlet Devil Mansion, Marisa Kirisame is struck by Patchouli Knowledge’s magic and transported to a library filled with anomalies.

Carefully examine every corner of the library, including its bookshelves, books, lighting, furnishings, and magical phenomena.

Explore the enclosed Great Library, identify its anomalies, and search for a way back.
