BrouHaHa is a competitive spelling game for up to 12 players.

Everyone hears the same word at the same moment. Everyone types in silence. Then every answer flips over at once. The fastest correct spellers earn the biggest scores, and the leaderboard reshuffles in front of the whole lobby.

ONE MAY HAVE MANY FACES

HEARTS, NOT POINTS

Your score resets at the end of every round. Your hearts don't.

Each round has three words. When the round ends, the players at the bottom lose a heart while the leaders gain one.

Lose your last heart and you're out.

In a full lobby, the bottom three bleed while the top two heal, so mid-table is never safe and last place is never dead.

Every round also gets tougher. The answer timer drops from 12 seconds toward 6, while your free audio replays shrink from three to none.

Every correctly spelled word earns dollars!

After every round, spend your money on 50+ hand-drawn coupons. Before every single word, there's a card phase where you play them on whoever is beating you.

Or keep the cards for yourself instead.

Buy extra seconds, additional replays, score multipliers, the opening letters of the word, or insurance against elimination.

Cards come in Common, Uncommon, Rare and Legendary rarities, drawn from a weighted shop. 

Bought a dud? Sell it back for half price.

THREE IN HAND, TWO ON THE SHELF

Some coupons are never played. They simply sit on your passive shelf and keep working.

You have room for two.

Hyperfocus multiplies every score you earn.

Encore gives you two extra replays on every word for the rest of the match.

Interest quietly pays you one coin for every five you choose not to spend.

Others exist for a single dramatic moment.

Three active cards. Two passive cards. Never enough space.

Choosing what to keep is most of the game.

SUDDEN DEATH

Dead level at the bottom?

Same score. Same correct answers. Same typing speed. Same hearts.

Then the two of you are dragged in front of everyone for Sudden Death.

Five seconds per word. No cards. No mercy.

First to three wins.

Draw your own 16×16 avatar before the match using a brush, flood fill, and three mirror axes for full eight-way symmetry.

Wear it above your score throughout the game, then watch your answer burst out of it in a speech bubble when the round is revealed.

Everything runs behind a full CRT pass with scanlines, screen curvature, phosphor glow, and a board that shakes whenever a coupon lands.
