The Buried Light is a retro-stylized action roguelike and top-down arena shooter set in the lightless world of trees where ancient forests burrowed underground.

For forty generations, the sentient trees of Arçuray have known nothing but a lightless void. Erlik, has sieged their world, leaving the surface to wither and rot. To survive, trees consumed the very marrow of the earth's stones.

They are not spaceships inside shining barriers.

They are bark, roots, branches, and WRATH!

Transformed by desperation and evolved into towering botanical war machines, they rise from the depths. To reclaim the sun for their kin, they weave through punishing bullet hells, and destroy Erlik’s legions by becoming the bullet hells.
