MISFORTUNATE is a turn-based strategy board game where fortune can build an empire - or bring it crashing down.

Travel across a richly illustrated board, acquire valuable units, manage your resources, and strengthen your position as you compete to eliminate every opponent standing between you and victory. Each deicision matters: where you move, what you purchase, when you upgrade, and how much you are willing to risk.

Build your economy using tokens, honey, totems, and other assets gathered throughout the match. Claim units before your opponenets do, then upgrade them through Copper, Silver, and Gold levels to increase the tolls paid by anyone unfortunate enough to land on them.

But ownership alone will not guarantee victory.

Event cards, alternate routes, unexpected costs, and changing opportunities can quickly disrupt even the strongest strategy. Players must adapt to the board, protect their resources, and recognise the right moment to expand - or strike.

The objective is simple: outlast and eliminate your opponents.

Build Your Position

Purchase units around the board and turn them into increasingly valuable assets. Upgrade your holdings to strengthen their effects and place greater pressure on your opponents.

Manage Your Resources

Every token spent is a strategic decision. Balance expansion, upgrades, payments, and reserves while ensuring you have enough resources to survive the next unexpected event.

Choose Your Route

The board contains branching paths, special regions, and destinations that may only be reached through particular choices or event cards. A seemingly minor route decision can change the course of the entire match.

Adapt To Misfortune

No strategy survives unchanged. Events can move players across the board, alter their resources, create new opportunities, ot place them directly in danger. Successful players must plan ahead without becoming dependant on a single approach.

Eliminate The Competition

Reduce your opponents ability to recover, take advantage of their mistakes, and force them out of the game. The last surviving team claims victory.
