Three Kingdoms Reimagined is a single-player strategy game played across a pausable real-time campaign map and real-time battles. Begin as Cao Cao, Liu Bei, Lu Bu, Sun Ce, another historical ruler, or a ruler of your own. Each start gives you land to manage and officers to lead.

Decide where to expand

Develop settlements, recruit officers, manage your economy and negotiate with rival rulers. Scouts and reports reveal part of the situation, not every enemy movement. Pause or change the campaign speed to read your council’s proposals, then decide whether to strengthen a settlement, move an army or risk an attack. Assign officers to lead armies or work in settlements. Claim the Mandate by holding a majority of the realm’s 29 capitals. Lose your last holding and your house’s campaign ends.

Command battles and sieges

When armies meet, use automatic resolution or command the battle yourself. Select formations, set their facing and order them to move, hold or charge. Watch morale and fatigue before committing your troops. In sieges, choose where to concentrate the assault: attack a gate or send troops up ladders to fight for the ramparts.

Watch the battle account

Choose Auto Resolve to settle an encounter, then watch a short animated account of the fighting. Pause it, speed it up or skip straight to the result. The outcome stays the same whichever way you watch. Recent battle accounts remain available in a small history list.

Continue after the fighting

A victory may gain territory while leaving your army too weak to press on. Casualties, wounded or captured officers and territorial changes affect your next move. Regroup, negotiate or keep marching with the force you still have. Officers can gain memories, traits and earned titles as they serve. Open their dossiers to see how they have changed, and revisit important events in the Chronicle, your campaign’s record.
