Seven years ago the Void opened over the Rim. Nobody knows who built the gates around it. Everybody knows the Rim would starve without them.

You are a pilot with a debt and a ship that has seen better decades. Then your onboard AI picks a signal out of the static. It repeats every 402 seconds. It is using your hull number.

FLATBED is a single-player space action RPG. Fly, trade, fight, take contracts, hunt bounties and follow a story that never explains itself. Nobody tells you what the Void is. You piece it together from wrecks, logs and people who lie to you.

Build the ship you want. Cannons, missiles, shields, armour, engines, reactors, drones: every piece has a role and a power cost, so a build is a choice, not a bigger number. Start in a rusted tug. End up in something the pirates run from.

Combat is fast and built for the mouse. Click to fly, click to lock, and your guns track the target while you pick your angle. Missiles chase. Shields flicker and fail. Capital ships open their batteries and the screen fills with fire.

Get hit and you feel it: sparks, debris, hull fires, and a ship that goes down in a chain of explosions instead of a puff of smoke.

Hand-built sectors that play differently, not just look different. Rock belts where a shortcut costs hull. Nebulae where the radar lies. Radiation that eats your ship unless you keep the shield up. Wreck fields where the dead block the line of fire.

Factions you recognise by colour before you read the name. Raiders, scavengers, a cartel with something to hide, harvesters with drills instead of guns, and the Keepers, who do not dodge. They correct course. Like they are counting.

A story where every choice has a price. Dock masters, patrol captains and brokers all want something from you, and none of them are telling the whole truth. By the end you decide who gets left behind.
