Games Like Wargrown

You wake up in a cloning tank with one order: get this ground ready for the colonists. Then the shooting started. Now the bodies coming out of the tanks keep getting stranger, and the war keeps getting bigger.

Wargrown is a single-player, top-down real-time tactics game. You're the captain, a clone soldier fighting on the ground alongside your squad. Fight your way into enemy territory, reinforce the ground you take, and hold it against everything this planet throws at you.

Lead from the front

Move, aim, and shoot to personally take down enemies or command your squad. Use cover, pick your fights, and decide when to push and when to hold. As the war grows, put squadmates in charge of their own squads and have them fight the war for you while you select (or grow) the best team.

Dig in and hold

Turn hard-won ground into a stronghold. Mine alloy, harvest biomass, and set up your own defenses. Every offensive leads to you being put on the defensive, so build like the next wave is already on its way.

The planet fights back

Other humans got here first, and they shoot on sight. The planet itself wants you gone too, from swarms that attack in waves to an alien civilization with technology of its own.

Change to survive

Your troops are grown in cloning vats, and lately, what comes out isn't quite human. Choose what your captain and squad become, whether that's cybernetic implants or mutations that trade a little humanity for an edge.

Take the planet

Pick where to fight next on the planet map. Territory you hold keeps producing and defending itself while you're gone. Put capable commanders in charge of your defenses or lose them as the war evolves.
