Story

“Welcome to Moonbase 13, everyone. We call this place ‘The Garden’.” The year is 2199. At long last, the march of science has allowed androids to observe the human soul — the “ghost.” Gentle-hearted androids have been given a role: to resolve the regrets and lingering attachments of ghosts, and so to save their souls. Da’at, our protagonist, is an android intelligence still partway through its education. Awakening on Moonbase 13, the Garden, Da’at takes up that very work. This is a story of the bonds formed between kind-hearted androids and ghosts with troubles of their own — and of the pursuit of a bell, tolling unnoticed, that will bring the world to its end.

Gameplay & Features

“Perhaps affection really is best conveyed with a hug, after all?” The main heroine. An old-model android manufactured in 2109. She was also the very first android to perceive ghosts. Calm and easygoing, and something of a natural airhead.

“I want to work to make the world a better place.” The protagonist. An artificial intelligence that has only just begun operating as an android. Straightforward and even-tempered, with a habit of quietly calling out other people’s nonsense. Da’at has no fixed gender, and switches between a male and a female body as the occasion calls for it. A nostalgist at heart, with a great love of 20th-century films and entertainment.

“I’m glad I met you, Da’at.” One of the unusual ghosts who cannot move on. Brash in manner, with an androgynous air. Every other ghost is little more than a human-shaped shadow, while she alone keeps the form she had in life intact.

“Our greed knows no bounds.” The representative of the ten billion humans on Earth. The channel through which humanity’s will is conveyed to Da’at and Binah. Every human being alive today now resides within virtual reality, their brains linked in parallel. A monster of pure intellect — and the mascot of the story.

“More than a lingering regret, I should call it an obsession of mine.” One of the unusual ghosts who cannot move on. A woman who died of illness in France in 2013. A doll craftswoman, and a doll lover. Positive, and refreshingly blunt.
