What grief does to those who stay

Pietro's attic room is exactly as he left it: the bass guitar on the wall, the CDs no one else would listen to, the plush turtle, the photo album full of the abandoned places he and his friends used to explore. One at a time and months apart, his friends come to take something of his home, and each of them is pulled back into their memories of him, and into everything his death left behind: the anger, the guilt, the "what if I had noticed", and the silence of someone who was there for everyone except himself. In their dreams, each of them finally gets to ask Pietro what they never could. We'll Meet Again is about what comes after: the slow, imperfect work of carrying someone with you without being crushed by them.
