Games Like Stay Extinct

The wall was built to keep something in. You came ashore as relief crew. Behind an eighty-metre containment wall, a research island four kilometres across has gone quiet, and only the hunters are infected. Survive it alone, or with up to three friends in online co-op.

Fight back

First person, up close: rifle, shotgun, pistol and crossbow. Shove an infected back, take one down from behind without a sound, or put a raptor to sleep with a tranquilliser dart.

Sealed orders

On the boat in, the skipper hands you your real orders, to be opened ashore. Nobody is on the quay to meet you, but someone opened the gate. At dusk a voice on the radio calls for the relief party. It was expecting you. The research tower C-01 kept its power when the island went dark, and its red beacon still blinks every night. The logs, tapes and photographs left behind tell you what happened here.

Study what hunts you

Photograph every species for the field guide. Dart a raptor, take a sample and analyse it at a lab bench for serum and scent lures. Each stage of the guide gives you something you can use: a weak point, a range, how to break a charge. Six classless skill trees grow with you, with keystones that change how you play.

The look

Low-poly models and painted textures in the PSX tradition, lit by modern fog and light. Sparse sound, and a score that stays quiet until something finds you. Stay Extinct is in development. Everything on this page is in the game today.
