SteamAbout STEEL WING: WEAVEBREAKER
STEEL WING: WEAVEBREAKER is a vertical-scrolling bullet-hell shooter inspired by the original Sakura Wars: half romance and daily life aboard the mothership (AVG), half real-time three-lane bullet-hell combat that breaks from traditional STG design (STG). After every sortie, spend time with your crew. Every answer you give changes your bond with them, and decides who will fly at your side. On top of that, there’s base building aboard your flying fortress, story-driven tower defense and a deep roguelite expedition.
Decades ago, humanity sent a satellite into deep space. It received an answer.
In 2091, humanity handed its entire defense to a military network called Weave. Then Weave turned its guns on its makers. The sky is lost, the cities have fallen, and all that remains is one flying fortress and three pilots. Inside the downed orbital satellite, a girl of unknown origin lies asleep.
Three-lane combined operations
Three fighters fight on three fronts at once: the factory, the sea and the depths below. Switch between them at any moment. The homing missiles hunting you on the main lane come from a submarine at sea, and winning or losing one lane changes the battle in another. You decide which front to save first and when to fall back.
Story campaign
Fight from a storm-lashed coast through rail junctions, canyon waterfalls, cliffside factories and a rocket launch site, all the way to the Moon. Every stage ends with a multi-phase boss. In the first campaign you chase down Weave; in the second you go behind enemy lines to rescue six scientists and rebuild your mothership's six departments.
Between sorties: life aboard the mothership
After every stage you return to base. Talk with your crew, share their quiet moments and answer as squadron leader Lu Zheng. Affection is never shown on screen, and every reply gains something and costs something. Grow close enough and she will fly at your side as a wingman, while your choices lead the story to different endings.
Build your base
Walk your mothership as your pilot, light up six departments room by room and research upgrades that carry into every sortie.
Tower defense nights
Weave's fleet strikes the mothership at night. Place turrets across ten nights of escalating assaults, then launch your own fighter to join the defense.
Roguelite expedition: the Spacetime Tower
The satellite's coordinates point to a structure called the Spacetime Tower. Every door inside leads to a different parallel world. Choose your route, pick upgrades from cards of four rarities, unlock hidden fire control and face a different boss in every world.
Three pilots, nine ways to fight
Each pilot flies a different craft with a normal shot, a charged attack and hidden firepower. Release a full charge at the right moment to tear a chunk out of a boss's health bar. When a boss unleashes its ultimate, a safe ring appears. Get inside in time or be destroyed on the spot.
