Games Like Tidy Up the Magic Mess

4,600 spell books lie heaped across a sunny garden deck, and every one of them needs a shelf. Pick them up, aim at the right cabinet and cast: each book flies home in a bolt of its element's magic.

Sort with magic

Twenty-three elemental cabinets stand in a ring around the mess, from Fire, Water and Earth to Dream, Death and Time. Every book is bound in its element's colours, so you can see where it belongs. No shelf comes labelled: the first copy you cast claims it, so you lay out every cabinet your way.

Spells that do the chores

Every sort pays gold and every full shelf earns a sigil. Spend them at the Vendor's striped booth on 28 upgrades and spells: a staff that grows through five levels, a Spell Orb that holds up to five spells, and 17 spells to cast. Chain Lightning leaps from copy to copy and flies them into your hands, the Sorting Whirlwind tears a pile apart and sets it down sorted by colour, Cabinet Pull floats the cabinet you need over to you, and the Constellation lifts every copy of a book into the air on little sleeping clouds.

The Fusion Fountain

Hidden in the heaps are 506 elemental essences. Toss two into the fountain and it erupts, lifting a brand-new spell high on its jet: Fire and Water make Steam Burst, Dream and Machine make Electric Sheep. 253 fused spells wait for their niches on the Fusion Wall.

Cozy, at your own pace

No timers, no penalties, nothing to fail. Butterflies and petals drift over the deck, birds turn overhead, and the whole hall grows warmer and brighter with every shelf you fill. Now and then a Daydream floats copies into your hands in soap bubbles, and once in a while, under a red moon, a cabinet gets up on its legs and goes looking for its own books.
